Why AI Could Become One of the Most Important Tools in Education

 

How AI is Transforming Education

Technology continues to evolve rapidly, and one of the most powerful innovations shaping modern society today is Artificial Intelligence. From automation and cybersecurity to communication and productivity, AI is transforming the way people work and interact with technology.

As a Computer Science student, I have always been interested in learning how AI can be applied in different industries. However, one area I never fully explored before was how Artificial Intelligence can improve education and support teachers in their everyday responsibilities.

That perspective changed when I attended the webinar titled “ReySimplif-AI: Simplify Teaching and Assessment Preparations with TRISEM-Ready AI” conducted by the EdTech Teacher Training Center.

At first, I thought the webinar would simply discuss AI productivity tools. But as the session progressed, I realized that it was much deeper than that. The webinar showed how Artificial Intelligence can help educators reduce workload, simplify preparation processes, and improve productivity in ways that can positively impact both teachers and students.

Understanding the Purpose of ReySimplif-AI

One of the first things that caught my attention during the webinar was the vision behind ReySimplif-AI.

The speaker explained how many teachers spend long hours creating:

  • PowerPoint presentations
  • Learning materials

Because of these responsibilities, teachers often become overwhelmed with preparation work before they can even focus on actual teaching and student interaction.

Hearing this made me realize how technology can truly become meaningful when it solves real-world problems.

During the webinar, several AI-powered applications integrated into the platform were demonstrated, including:

  • Slide Quiz Tools

What impressed me the most was seeing how lesson plans could automatically be transformed into PowerPoint presentations. Tasks that normally take hours could now be completed within minutes using AI-assisted systems.

As someone who often creates presentations and documents for school requirements, I immediately understood how useful these tools could become—not only for teachers but also for students and professionals.

The webinar also made me realize how AI can improve productivity without necessarily replacing human creativity and decision-making.

A Different Perspective on Artificial Intelligence

Before attending the webinar, I mostly associated AI with:

  • Chatbots
  • Automation systems
  • Coding assistance
  • Cybersecurity tools

However, this webinar showed me another side of Artificial Intelligence—its ability to support education and reduce workload for educators.

This became one of the most meaningful lessons I gained from the experience:
👉 Technology becomes more valuable when it helps people focus on what truly matters.

Instead of spending too much time on repetitive preparation tasks, teachers can dedicate more time to:

  • Improving classroom engagement
  • Supporting learners
  • Creating meaningful educational experiences

That realization made me appreciate the practical value of Artificial Intelligence even more.

The Importance of Responsible AI Usage

Another important topic discussed during the webinar was the ethical and responsible use of AI.

The speakers emphasized that AI should not completely replace educators. Instead, AI should serve as a support tool that improves efficiency while still allowing human creativity, interaction, and critical thinking to remain important.

This lesson became very meaningful to me because many people today view AI as something that will replace human roles entirely. However, the webinar explained that technology works best when it supports people rather than replacing them.

As future IT and Computer Science professionals, this reminded me that we have a responsibility to develop technologies that benefit society in ethical and meaningful ways.

How the Webinar Inspired Me

One of the things I appreciated most about the webinar was seeing Filipino innovation in action.

Knowing that ReySimplif-AI was developed to address real educational challenges inspired me to appreciate local technological innovation even more. It reminded me that meaningful technologies can come from individuals who understand real-world problems and want to create practical solutions.

As a Computer Science student, the webinar motivated me to:

  • Continue learning about Artificial Intelligence

  • Improve my technical and creative skills
  • Think about technologies that solve real-world problems
  • Become more innovative in future projects

The webinar also inspired me to become more open-minded about the different ways AI can be applied in society.

Final Reflections

Overall, attending the ReySimplif-AI webinar was a meaningful and eye-opening experience.

The webinar helped me understand that Artificial Intelligence is not only about advanced systems and automation—it is also about solving problems, improving productivity, and supporting people in their everyday responsibilities.

More importantly, the experience reminded me that technology becomes more impactful when it is used responsibly, creatively, and with the intention of helping others.

And as future technology professionals, it is our responsibility to create innovations that improve lives, support communities, and contribute positively to society.
