Exploring the Future Through AI: My Learning Experience with AI Class ASEAN

In today’s rapidly evolving digital world, technology continues to redefine the way people learn, communicate, and work. Among the many technological advancements shaping society, Artificial Intelligence (AI) stands out as one of the most transformative innovations of this generation. From education and business to healthcare and cybersecurity, AI is becoming increasingly integrated into everyday life.

As a Computer Science student, I have always been interested in understanding how emerging technologies influence the future of industries and careers. This curiosity encouraged me to explore the AI Class ASEAN Platform, an initiative under the AI Ready ASEAN Program by the ASEAN Foundation and Google.org. Through this learning experience, I gained not only technical knowledge about AI, but also a deeper understanding of the responsibilities that come with using advanced technologies in today’s society.

A New Perspective on Artificial Intelligence

Before taking the courses, my understanding of Artificial Intelligence was relatively limited. I mostly associated AI with chatbots, automation systems, and virtual assistants. However, as I progressed through the learning modules, I realized that AI is much broader and more impactful than I initially thought.

The courses introduced various concepts related to:

  • AI Ethics and Responsible Usage
  • AI Productivity Tools
  • Misinformation Awareness

Technology evolves rapidly, and skills that are relevant today may become outdated in the future. Because of this, adapting to innovation and learning new technologies is necessary for personal and professional growth.

Challenges and Personal Growth

Although the courses were manageable, there were moments when I encountered concepts that were unfamiliar and challenging to understand immediately. Some topics related to AI systems and ethics required deeper analysis and reflection.

However, instead of becoming discouraged, I viewed these challenges as opportunities to learn more. The experience taught me the importance of patience, curiosity, and continuous improvement in the learning process.

It also helped me become more disciplined in managing my time and focusing on self-paced learning. Since the platform allowed flexible learning schedules, I learned how to stay motivated and complete the modules independently.
